The Leicestershire Round - in Bitesize Pieces

    Here in Leicester we are circled by a 102 mile route, The Leicestershire Round. It was developed a few years ago as a project to link footpaths, bridalways and green roads to give one continuous route around the county.

    @Lullabelle and I have set ourselves a target of walking the entire route in a series of circular walks up to about 10 miles each. So far we've done about a third of it (though it has stalled a little of late)

    Should not such a route visit Melton Mowbray for pork pies?

    That's intersting. I wonder how long it took them to put it together? 102 miles isn't exactly going to be a quick job to mark out and plan and signpost. Well done them. :smile:

    Good point although proper Melton pies and Stilton is available tbroughout Leicestershire. We are just very sharp about not letting the good stuff cross the borders.:mrpig:
